It is absolutely fine if you prefer to pursue perfection in terms of meeting certain standard, and there is no absolute right or wrong. Only that each of us has our own priorities, regardless time or expanses, one might decide spending theirs in monitor calibration not worth it.
Maybe one day you will stand the same opinion as I do, who knows. I even agree to certain point that one should play around to see if that is the thing for yourself. I do not regret getting myself one of those calibrator, because I now understand the constraint of it and if it suits my usage, and that's how I arrived at the opinion shared in previous thread.
And again, I do appreciate your enthusiast in producing prints. Although the prints are likely to vary from image on your monitor due to non-calibrated printers, you can always further adjust your photo to compensate. My criticism would be that you could do the same without a calibrated monitor too, which questions the need of a monitor calibrator again. But it is your call. |
