The 11kV ring distribution network consists of a primary substation and number of secondary
substations.
A typical primary 11kV substation as shown the left
figure, the power is fed into this system by 33kV/11kV
transformers arranged in delta-star configuration at the
primary substation. Two or more transformers are
normally used to feed an 11kV panel board. This board
consists of a three-phase busbar (often separated into
two main sections each of which can be fed by one of
the main transformers). Sections of cable network,
usually arranged as some form of ring, are connected
