I've got HDD enclosures that become iffy in construction, didn't even bother Microworks and went straight to Transcend HK... just one floor up or so

And no waiting, instant check and replacement (if stock is available)
As for Microworks, 1-2w wait is no escape

BTW those HDD enclosures have Microworks stickers

That's what I mean...

If you have a Transcend product with Transcend sticker only, then you cannot deal with Microworks in case of maintenance/repair/replacement but with Transcend HK only

If however you have a Transcend product with Microworks sticker, then Transcend will still honour repairs/replacements, even immediate replacements, as long as the product concerned is in stock...
In other words, you can deal with either Microworks or Transcend
