[Docking] USB 3.0 HD Dock 速度測試(2)

個HD Dock係用Asmedia ASM1053E主控晶片, 已知係用最新既firmware, 支援6TB+, UASP和自動休眠!

測試係W8.1用H87 chipset, 裝左Intel chipset driver, 無裝任何USB 3.0的Driver, 亦無裝USB Boost的s/w(好似Asus AIsuite有這個功能, 不過免得過都唔想裝D板廠寫得好屎的s/w), 所以試唔到UASP的功能.

用SSD經Asmedia ASM1053E Controller的USB 3.0 HD Dock, 抄一個5.9G的file落另一隻Plextor M5P 256G SSD(隻SSD係長期用來BT).

Supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) Specification Revision 1.0 for maximum performance on supported operating systems like Windows 8. The OS, host controller, and device must all support UASP to switch over to this higher performance transfer mode.

The adoption of the SCSI Protocol in USB 3.0 provides its users with the advantage of having better data throughput than traditional BOT (Bulk-Only Transfer) protocol, all thanks to its streaming architecture as well as the improved queuing (NCQ support) and task management, which eliminated much of the round trip time between USB commands, so more commands can be sent simultaneously. Moreover, thanks to the multi-tasking aware architecture, the performance is further enhanced when multiple transfers occur.

速度係每秒380MB/s左右, 係唔係隻SSD個Writing Speed的極限, 咁我就真係唔知!

可以參考發現Ext HD Dock原來可以支援6TB這個post.

我係剪星買, 係單頭, 應該係Orico 6818US3, 撞彩買到隻係用靓既主控晶片,  Orico出萬七咁多款USB 3.0 HD Dock, 肯定有部份係用D較普通既主控晶片!

睇下外國Plugabe賣既USB 3.0 HD Dock個Firmware Support, 用Asmedia ASM1051e或ASM1053e主控晶片, Asmedia都有新版本Firmware提供.

比我搵返張單出來!

一直都懷疑會否係個SSD Writing Speed影響個測試結果, 因為隻SSD已經成年有多長期用來BT.

今次用隻SSD駁住個USB 3.0 HD Dock, 然後行SSD Benchmark, 個Seq. Read應該就係個Asmedia ASM1053E 主控晶片的上限: 424MB左右!

另外發覺, 個AS SSD Benchmark係show I:asmedia ASM1053E SCSI Disk Device!
我估Windows 8, Intel既USB 3.0 已經唔洗裝USB 3.0 Boost既Driver, 就識自動轉用UASP mode來做Transfer!

當remove個USB 3.0 device時也顯示USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device, W8已經支援USB 3.0的UASP功能自動切換!

係Microsoft的New for USB Drivers的資料, 原來Windows 8係內建支援USB 3.0的UASP, 唔洗要好似W7咁要裝USB Boost之類既Driver咁煩!
