why the multiplier is 6? I thought it would be 8! My 420 is 8

    x6 is because EIST  , while low loading or idle , the clock and voltage will decrease

overclock 100% is not bad due to 200x8 > 400x8
C420 = x8 , C430 = x9

for simple overclock C420 to 2.66Ghz , you can try hardmod it to 333x8
you can find hardmod an 775 processor in google (short /shield some pins )
or buy a hardmod sticker which made in china

hardmod to 266x8 or 333x8 depends on your cpu
most of all C420 can run at 333x8 at stock voltage
stock cooler can already take the TDP after overclock , thus
c420 on 2.66 ghz is nice and cheap
