Thinking of getting one of those slim USB-based DVD writers, also due to the fact that many newer laptop models come without internal ODD...

Any recommendation?  Preferably one with MTK chipset which allows for tweaking with LTN tools or whatever

Not looking for BD drives nor Pioneer models due to their inability to be rendered "code" free
